Lied accompaniment is the centre of Georges Starobinski’s concert activity. With Schubert, Loewe, Schumann, Brahms, Wolf, Mahler and Berg, the German lied between Romanticism and New Music is in the centre of his repertoire, which also contains French mélodies by Berlioz, Duparc, Fauré, Debussy, Satie and Ravel, as well as song cycles outside of the central European tradition, such as:
